The 2014 Maverick Classic

Registration for the 2014 Maverick Classic Stage Race presented by U.S. Bank and Western Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is now open!

The 2014 Maverick Classic is a four-event stage race in the beautiful Grand Valley of Colorado’s Western Slope. It is held in conjunction with the Rocky Mountain Collegiate Cycling Conference Regional Championships hosted by Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colorado.

The event, slated for April 18-20, features stages highlighting the scenic landscape and historic communities across the valley as well as some of the top cyclists from around the region [Editor's note: plus a Friday night Fat Tire Crit. Yep. You read that correctly. A crit on mountain bikes.]

  • Stage 1 - Downtown Fruita Criterium (Friday, April 18 at 2:30pm)
  • Stage 2 - Fruita Individual Time Trial (Saturday, April 19 at 8:30am)
  • Stage 3 - Downtown Grand Junction Criterium (Saturday, April 19 at 1pm)
  • Stage 4 - Palisade Road Race (Sunday, April 20 at 8:30am)
