FEMALLEY CAT RETURNS WITH A RACE FOR THE GUYS, TOO!
During The Bicycle Film Festival, September 11
"Our mission is to create a non-intimidating environment for women to try racing, it's more about the experience and making new friends than it is about winning."
The Second Annual Femalley Cat returns September 11, during the three-day Bicycle Film Festival in Denver. The Bicycle Film Festival runs September 9-11 with films at Starz FilmCenter at the Tivoli.
The Femalley Cat is a ladies-only bike race in the male dominated alley cat scene. Last year thirty women raced on a 10 mile route, top ten were awarded prizes.
Not female? Kris and Declan (of the Lo-Hi Scramble) will be hosting a race for the dudes at the same time, same place, they're calling it “The Broseph Invitational.” This race will be a little longer than the ladies and on a separate route.
What's an alley cat? It's a race which emulates the day of a bike messenger; a manifest directs the racer through picking up and dropping off “packages” all over the city.
Saturday, September 11
