The Saga Continues

It looks like the Larimer County Sheriff wants to meet with bicycling advocates about the interpretation of two abreast riding. Here is the article in the Boulder Daily Camera. I think this is a great step forward and its great to see Bicycle Colorado getting involved right a way.

Another article in the Denver Post.

I don't think that this is

I don't think that this is such a great development. The sheriff is not going to change his mind. He talks about clarification of the law. Well sheriff, the courts clarify the law, not state resp. He wants state reps to be there to show a need for MORE LAWS targeting cyclists. If that is the case, I hope that a 3 foot safe pass line item is added to any new law.

I would also like to see the impede traffic law to apply to ALL traffic, tractors, RVs, horse trailers, ATV trailers, and semis. I would also like to see the 2 abreast law to apply to motors. I'm sorry, but there is something wrong about allowing a car to pass another with traffic (ME on a bike) approaching.

Last point, why does the papers continue to give this attention hound a voice? Why not an alternative view such as Bob's column in velonews?
