James Canyon Rd to not be restored with all bike lanes

News Item: 

According to a citizen who attended at recent meeting with county officials on Jamestown and Lefthand Canyon road repaving, which is scheduled for LATE 2015 it was learned that due to funding (from outside the county assumed) the reconstruction is not planned to have a downhill bike lane, only an uphill lane. For some less confident cyclists this could be a deal breaker for riding that road anymore

If you've been to any cross race in Colorado, you've seen a Boulder Cycle Sport racer. They practically bleed cowbells. Sound painful? They LOVE pain. BCS's multi-tiered program has always supported grassroots racers, local veterans, masters, evangelists, etc. But now they will be supporting pros at the top level.

Sad to see as the innovative electric cycling industry take off. As an owner of one of the bikes from Pete's shop and very satisfied customer, I hope Dean is correct in saying that more shops are starting to embrace the electric commuter/cargo bike revolution.

Boulder Bike Counter shows large drop in numbers

News Item: 

The Digital Bike Counter near 13th and Walnut has been counting bikes since June of 2010 and ever since they hooked up the physically counter the numbers of bikes counted has dropped dramatically. Maybe a glitch was discovered that was previously gone undetected or maybe it is broken. No word from the city on this yet.

The physical counter display went live in May of 2014
