Event Name:
2009 Junior Cyclocross Camp

Event Description:
The American Cycling Association 2009 Junior Cyclocross (CX) Camp will be held in Lafayette, CO at the Alexander Dawson School. Food services will be catered by Food Stuff Etc.

Head Coach:
Our head coach is Ann Trombley. Ann began Mountain biking in 1984 in Marin Country California and has been racing CX since 1997. After Graduating with a Master in Physical Therapy in 1994 she decided she wanted to try Mountain Bike racing. She quickly moved up the ranks to Pro and was named national champion in short track in 2000, which was the same year she was named to the Olympic Team. Ann competed in the 2000 Olympics in Sydney Australia. After the Olympics, Ann retired from Professional Mt bike racing to get back to her Physical Therapy practice and begin her coaching career. She wrote a book in 2005 titled "Serious Mountain biking". Ann continues to race on occasion but you can find her mostly running from the start of a race to the feed zone and back, encouraging the athletes she coaches to race to their potential and beyond.

This early season race is a great primer requiring some extra power to navigate the course's ample grass riding. The tight venue has great spectating and easy to see all the action. A sand pit and short, but brutal run-ups come at no extra change.
