Boulder gives USA Pro Challenge official sign-off

The Boulder City Council voted unanimously late Tuesday to authorize City Manager Jane Brautigam to sign the contract with the USA Pro Challenge and to issue all necessary permits for that race and for two other major events: Ride the Rockies on June 8 and the city's first full Ironman Triathlon on Aug. 3.

Host Cities Announced for 2014 USA Pro Challenge

Stage 1: Monday, Aug. 18 – Aspen Circuit Race
Stage 2: Tuesday, Aug. 19 – Aspen to Mt. Crested Butte
Stage 3: Wednesday, Aug. 20 – Gunnison to Monarch Mountain (mountaintop finish)
Stage 4: Thursday, Aug. 21 – Colorado Springs Circuit Race
Stage 5: Friday, Aug. 22 – Woodland Park to Breckenridge
Stage 6: Saturday, Aug. 23 – Vail Individual Time Trial
Stage 7: Sunday, Aug. 24 – ???

Fans will be able to help shape the race by logging on to and giving their opinion on four options for Stage 7, including:

USA Pro Challenge up for discussion in Boulder City Council Oct 15

News Item: 

Pro Challenge 2014 and 2015 Alert. City Council will be considering on Tuesday, Oct. 15, a Boulder stage for 2014 (a start in Boulder), and organizers will request a Flagstaff stage for 2015 (rather than 2014, due to flood). We need supporters of the Pro Challenge to be present to show Council the community support for this race. Free t-shirts for those who attend -- no need to speak, just wear the shirt. Be at Council Chambers at 4:30 pm, meeting starts at 5 pm, you need only stay until around 6 pm. City Council is located at 1777 Broadway St. (Corner of Canyon and Broadway).
